On May 25th 2018, a new European Union data protection law, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) takes effect. The GDPR gives individuals in the EU more control over how their data is used and places certain obligations on businesses that process information of those individuals. Our Privacy Policy takes into account the new GDPR requirements.

What is our legitimate interest in obtaining your information?

In order to fulfil any order you place with AJS Landscapes, I require your name, address, email and payment details. Payment will normally be processed via cheque or Bank Transfer (BACS). Please find below the links to the Privacy Policies for each organisation, which I encourage you to read in order to understand how they manage your information. All data shared with the following websites is encrypted.

What do we do with your information?

We will retain an online copy of your quote pending your acceptance or rejection. Rejections will be deleted. Once work has been completed and payment has been received, we no longer require your information and it is destroyed, with the exception of payment details as these we are required to keep for a period of five years in order to comply with the rules laid down by HMRC, for accountancy reasons. What we don’t do with your information?

We do not pass your information onto third parties, nor do we input it onto a database for marketing purposes.

Storage Limitation

The GDPR states that we keep your information for the shortest time possible and dispose of it in an appropriate manner when no longer required. For the purposes of book-keeping HMRC request that all paperwork is kept for a period of five years. Following this period, we will ensure that your paperwork will be shredded by us.

Safeguarding your information

We take keeping your personal information safe and secure, very seriously. All online data is deleted as soon as relevant paper copies have been printed and to further ensure your data protection, appropriate data protection/virus software is installed on our business laptops and will be updated as required. Please read the Privacy Policies for the above companies in order to check if the data held is encrypted.

You are welcome to contact us at anytime to enquire (free of charge), what information we are currently storing about you. We promise to respond within one month of your enquiry.
